3 Weeks & Counting.

Be still my stolen heart, I may be partial but I just cannot get enough of this baby of mine!
I snapped this photograph of her on Monday when she was officially
3 weeks & 1 day old & I swear to you, she's grown more already.

As much as I planned on returning to the blog & my etsy shop fully
later this week, I'm find myself wishing that time would just slow
down ever so slightly so I don't miss a thing in regards to Baby G.
(which I think is how I may refer to her from here on out- Hmmm?)
So I think I just might, since I am my own boss after all, extend my
vacation a bit longer & continue enjoying this ever changing baby-o-mine.

I sure hope you don't mind!?
I mean, I'll still be around & post here & there just not everyday...

Guest Post : Looking Chic While Pregnant.

{ By Adrienne

Nowadays, there are so many cute maternity clothes, there is no reason you cannot look chic & fabulous while you are pregnant.  What I have discovered recently is that the current style is long and flowy, so you can even find regular clothes to wear, which is cost efficient!

While we are on the topic of being cost efficient, some maternity clothes are SO expensive!  The trick is to find the sales or go to places that you know have good quality clothes for a decent price.  I am only 14 weeks pregnant but I have had a TON of friends who have had babies recently, so they have given me some tips...

1.  Motherhood Maternity clothes shrink so either air dry or buy a size/length that has room to shrink.
2. The GAP Sale rack usually has some awesome deals on tank tops & casual shirts.
3. Get a GOOD pair of jeans! This would be the one thing to spend a decent amount of money on.
4. Some H&M stores have a maternity section with nice work clothes.
5. Sign up for coupons & email lists- often you'll get the scoop on deals & coupons no one else does.
6. Liz Lange’s collection at Target is cute & priced well- great for basics.

Here are some of my favorite outfits:

I really like this Motherhood Maternity dress
Wouldn't it look super cute with a black cardigan?
Plus this would be a great dress for work too!

This
GAP Graphic Lace T is sweet

& on sale for only $19.99!

I really like these basic

Guest Post: Polaroids by Parker Fitzgerald.

{ By Leslie }
365 projects are not uncommon these days, but Parker Fitzgerald's
everyday project for 2010—a 365 project using
100-type Polaroid pack film and quotes—is amazing.

The combination of ethereal images, interesting lighting, and thought-provoking quotes makes this project truly great. For the past year, every time I logged on to Flickr I looked forward to seeing what Polaroids had been added to this set. You can check it out on Flickr, too.

To say that Gracelyn is the most awesome thing that has
ever happened to us is an understatement.
We just love our lil' bug to pieces.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Guest Post: Cute & Moneysaving DIYs.

{ By Leslie

Don’t you hate it when you see something in a store and then think,
“Oh, I could make that!” but then half the time you just forget about it and
never take the time to make it? Well, here a few DIY ideas that could save you some cash
and don’t require you to be a crafting genius. Each of these is definitely on my to-do list!

This is an AMAZING idea-
Turn a purse you already own into a stylish, functional camera bag!
There are so many great shops out there selling gorgeous,
girly camera bags, but this DIY option is genius!

This shabby chic picture frame earring holder tutorial is too sweet, and too easy!

Remember that great pillow from Target with the yellow rosettes
that was all over the interwebs a few months ago?
Well, with this tutorial you can make your own!

Happy crafting!

Creature Comforts Japan Relief Fundraiser.

The beautiful Ez of Creature Comforts has come up with
a very lovely fundraiser to help raise relief funds for Japan.

I don't know about you but my heart is breaking daily for the Japanese people.
Please head on over to Ez's shop which is currently full of lovely prints

Or if you are the type of person who'd prefer to just give a
straight donation & get nothing for it, I suggest heading on over here.

Baby Spoons & Such.

I'm curious, does anyone give baby spoons as keepsake gifts anymore?
Personalized Baby Spoon via The Vintage Pearl

Seems like the days of silver cups, baby spoons & silver rattles have passed
or maybe I'm just out of the loop because this is our first child?

I don't know.... But I do know that I tend to be pretty old fashioned at times
& I think I'd like all the above for Baby Fry- is that crazy?

I just think it is cool that years from now, Baby Fry will have a few
special things that someone thought of getting just for her that are timeless.

How about you?
Do you have a go to baby gift?

Guest Post : Four Reason To Love Film Photography.

{ By Leslie }

About a year and a half ago, I started using 35mm film, and the process and results
were both so fun that I haven’t stopped since! From crazy fun toy cameras
to vintage SLRs, and stylish Holgas—there are endless possibilities.
(And I’m no expert on film, just an amateur experimenter—
you can read more about my journey here.)

Along with some great film photos from Flickr,
here are the top four reasons why I love shooting film.
{ By TE.SI }

It’s unpredictable. No matter how much you plan, you never know how or if light might leak in, or how your double exposure might turn out.

It teaches you that you’re not in control. Sometimes digital makes me feel like I’m in control, but analogue cameras remind me that the real fun comes when you accept that you’re not in control. I’ve learned that shooting lo-fi film is like living life: you aren’t in control, and it’s better that way.

It gives colors that look like those your mind’s eye remembers. Vibrant, soft, sometimes with just a little grain. And, often no need for photoshop, which is lovely.

{ By Hanah An }

It forces you to think more before you shoot. Since you have a finite number of frames, you learn to really try to see before you click.

And changing the way you see, now that’s a great thing.

Happy Weekend.

{ Via

Well, happy weekend my lovebugs!
Still no baby over here- whomp whomp waaaa.
I'm feeling very much like a beached whale these days
& I'm definitely ready to pop like the bubbles in the above photograph!

Hopefully something magical will happen this weekend.
If not I'm scheduled for an ultrasound & stress test Monday afternoon to
ensure Baby Fry is still a-ok. If she is then we will keep on waiting & waiting
& if she still doesn't come on her own an induction will be scheduled for next weekend.

So we will just keep on waiting & I'm going to start doing jumping jacks
per the sister-in-law's suggestion to see if we can get things moving- LOL.
How about you? What are you up to this weekend? Something fabulous I hope!

DIY - Simple Wooden Heart.

I've been craving simplicity lately.
Almost to the point that I want to re-decorate the whole
house in much simpler & minimalist fashion, almost.
(Insert, "if I had a million dollars..." comment here.)

I think that is mostly because I've nested the heck out of
our place & now I'm bored waiting on Baby Fry.

Anyway, I'm in love with this simple wooden heart I spotted on Design Sponge...
Ain't it purrrty? Best part- it is totally a DIY!

Head on over here to check out the full tutorial
& as always let me know if you try your hand at making one!

Still No Baby.

{ Via }

Still no baby over here. Booo.
Thank goodness for pinterest cuteness (see above),
Wii Tetris & Golden Girls re-runs to distract me!

Thank you to everyone for your sweet thoughts, prayers
& clever ideas on how to get things started.
Hopefully she will make her appearance soon.

On a positive there is at least an end in sight since my midwives
will not let me go past March 13th (42 weeks) should I have to be induced.
So one way or another Baby Fry will be here by March 13th- yippeeeee!

xoxo
