Sophie Giraffe.

Clearly we love Sophie the Giraffe in this household.

She really is the best! 

Cute, easy to grip, soft to munch on, interesting to look at & squeaky! 

Though Piper Dog has a hard time not wanting to play with Sophie, herself. 

Especially when she hears her squeak & then Baby Girl 

promptly drops her on the floor right in front of her...

I think in an effort to do all she could do to contain 

herself she decided to play dead. 

Haha poor dog.

Standout Giraffe.

If you've hung around the blog long enough you know I love giraffes.

 So naturally I'm swooning over this lil' guy... 

There is just one thing I'm not sure of...

 If I were to get the Standout Giraffe is it for Baby Fry or for me? 

Hmmm? Well I guess we can share.

Mama Giraffe.

Now that I have a bun in the oven my head is constantly

 swimming with all the things we need for the babe. 

So when I spotted this print on Spur Stor, I knew it would be

 added to the list of things we will need for Baby Fry's Nursery...

I may even use it as the inspiration for the whole nursery.

I do love me some giraffes!

Birthday Week.

As you may have read in my Giraffe Manor post yesterday, my birthday is this week. Sunday to be exact. 
I'm getting old & I have yet to learn to embrace it. Le sigh. I'm working on it, I swear.


Thank goodness for this suggestion from the lovely Melanie from You Are My Fave 
Melanie is a May baby too (Happy Belated B-day Mel!)  & she suggested a few weeks ago 
to start the traditionof purchasing yourself something special every year to 
mark the day of your  birth. Be it a party dress, a pair of shoes or  a piece of art...
 Just something you love & wouldn't ordinarily buy for yourself.


So I decided for the next several years or maybe every year from here on out to purchase pieces of art. 
Why? Because I love art. It makes my little heart go pitter patter & my eyes go ooo-la-la!
This year I chose this piece:

It is fittingly titled: "Present"  
& it is by one of my new fave artists, Blanca Gomez.

I am so excited for it to arrive in the mail.

Giraffe Manor Hotel.

To say that I am in love enthralled by giraffes is kind of a gross understatement.

A better way to put it would be to say that I am completely & utterly amazed by them.

 The tall, gentle giants are just so majestic, so graceful & just plain fascinating.

 In fact, my jaw dropped & I let out a lil' squeal of excitement when I was able to see

 a baby giraffe break into a full sprint on the mini-safari we took while in Disney. 

(something our guide said happens very, very rarely.)

Since Sunday will mark once again the day of birth & I will be over a quarter century old, 

I suppose it is about time I start my bucket list...

Given my fascination with giraffes, of course my number 

one place to visit before I kick said bucket is The Giraffe Manor Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

I first found out about the hotel several years ago when I happened to catch a television special about it. 

I've told plenty of my friends & family about it over the years but I never actually sat down 

& researched the hotel until today when I found this article on Spot Cool Stuff: Travel.

All I can say is- WOW! What an experience staying here would be!

 Trust me. Just read this &  I think you too will be wanting to go...

"The six-room Giraffe Manor sits on 140 acres that’s home to warthogs, Bush Bucks and birds as well as dozens of giraffe.
