DIY - Chevron Rug.

I've seen a lot of DIYs involving chevron rugs floating around the internet...
While awesome, I'll be honest, most of them made me go, "wow that takes some serious patience & skill!"
This one however, isn't one that will require too much patience since you don't  have to hand paint it, score!
Are you ready to hear  about another pro? ... it doesn't have to be a chevron pattern either!
The rug can be anything you want really since the rug is created by using fabric, a drop cloth & a rug gripper.
Plus you can probably complete it in an afternoon & what is not to love about that!?

which I originally spotted on My Favorite Things.

Oh & as always, please let me know if you try
your hand at this, I'd love to know goes!

Sew! By Sam Made

She's been working on them for a while & has offered a few sneak peaks here
& there but the lovely Samantha from Sam Made & Post Grad Hair Cut has finished
& now has her awesome Sew! Sewing Kits for sale in her shop...

Hip hip hooray!

Head on over to the shop to grab your kit. You know you want one...
The first run is limited edition so there are only 40 kits up for grabs, so don't delay!

Oh & did I mention $5 from every purchase of a Sew! Sewing Kit will be loaned to Kiva!?
Sweet. In case you weren't aware Kiva is an organization that combines micro-financing
with the internet, allowing people to lend money directly to entrepreneurs in developing countries.

More.

Well sheesh, Urban Outfitters... it is like you read my mind!

Get it here.

B&W Nursery.

What do we think of this nursery my lovebugs?
Too dark for a babe? Maybe so, I admit, I'm not in love with the paint color for a nursery.
But I do like really like the idea of repurposing this dresser from IKEA as a changing table...
{ Via Flickr

Storage space is at a minimum  around here so the dresser would definitely be handy.
Plus it comes in some other colors... the blue is kinda fun!

Thoughts?

Back to the 20's.

My oh, my!
These photographs make me so, so happy!

{ Spotted on The Sartorialist }

I should've been born in the 20's...
But since I wasn't, maybe I should just try my hand at
becoming friends with all these awesome people who
were hanging out at The Jazz-Age Dance Party, no?!

The Pen Story.

Chances are you probably have already seen this lil' video shot with the new Olympus Pen
But I thought it was too awesome not to share just in case you haven't...
{Originally spotted on Swiss Miss

Can you believe it was shot completely with the Olympus Pen camera?!
Did I mention they shot 60,000 pictures with The Pen & developed 9,600 prints to make it?!
 Super awesome!

Happy Weekend!

Happy weekend lovebugs!
This photograph reminds me of lazy summer days at my family's cabin in the mountains.
It had a pond with a teeny lil' island in the middle & this reminds me of it perfectly...
{ Via Flickr }

Le sigh. I'd really like to be camping this weekend... but alas I am not.
Lots of lil' projects to finish around the house in preparation for Baby Fry instead.

So what are you up to this weekend?
Camping perhaps? Live it up for me will ya?!

Segway Tour.

My parents are awesome.
just because today & they sent me a lil' video...

It isn't the greatest quality or that long but I thought it was fun & it made me smile.

DIY - Wine Tote Bag

I'm in love with this DIY wine tote bag  I spotted
on Design*Sponge for several reasons...

1. I really like wine so to be able to tote it around in a cute way is fab.
2. I like to give wine as a gift so this DIY tote will add to the awesomeness of said gift.
3. The bag is made out of the old legs of jeans... sweet! Yay for almost free fabric!
Be sure to head on over to Design*Sponge for the full tutorial
& let me know if you try your hand at making one...

I'd love to know how it turns out for you!

Mama Giraffe.

Now that I have a bun in the oven my head is constantly
swimming with all the things we need for the babe.

So when I spotted this print on Spur StorI knew it would be
added to the list of things we will need for Baby Fry's Nursery...
I may even use it as the inspiration for the whole nursery.
I do love me some giraffes!

Other than that we've got a few projects around the
house to tackle & some relaxing to do.

A Love Letter For You.

Have you heard about The Love Letter Project or perhaps
spotted some of the murals throughout Philadelphia?

Oh my, I just love it! What a creative & absolutely fabulous idea...
Amazing right?

It is literally a love letter painted on the walls facing the Market elevated train in Philadelphia.
Created by Steve Powers, Love Letter was designed & painted by 40 local
& international artists & is on display for everyone to enjoy!

For more on the project including a map of all the locations
the murals are painted head on over to the project's site.

Pssst. If you aren't lucky enough to reside in or around Philadelphia to check
the project out yourself,  you can always buy the book featuring the murals right here

Stair Stripes.

I really like the contrasting stripe that runs along the wall & the runner.
It just draws your eye right up the stairs...
