Nursery Stripes.

I've been working on Baby Fry's nursery for about a week now.
I had to repaint the whole room, let the walls set & then lay out,
tape off & choose colors for the striped accent wall & paint again.
I must say, it took a lot of patience but I am really happy with the end result!

Before with the baby blue that was on the walls when we moved in...
Half way done with the new moonlit yellow & white walls...
Prep & round one of paint... whoa that is A LOT of tape!

After with the striped accent wall...
Now I just need to repaint the trim, have the ceiling fan installed, get the furniture,
decorate with all the fine details & oh yeah, have Baby Fry so she can sleep in here.

I'm just glad the hard part of the painting is done.
Taping off & painting those lower stripes were tough on my lower back!

So, what do you think my loves?

Red Fox by Sass & Peril.

I just discovered this fantastic etsy shop, Sass & Peril yesterday.
So much cute stuff, seriously, go check it out!

I especially love this lil' guy...
Ack- I'm in love with the Red Fox pillow
I can totally see one or two of him hanging out on the side chair
in our living room, I think he'd make Baby Fry smile.
(& well me too, double smiles abound)

But I also think he looks super cute in greeting card form too, no?
For more from Sass & Peril head on over to the etsy shop or the website.
Mmm hmm I love me some excellent "screenprints & cute plush things!"

Happy Weekend.

Hello lovelies! I hope you have had a good week
& have a nice weekend planned for yourself.

I spent my week this week painting the nursery, working on the registry
& dreaming of our what our little one will look like at various stages of her life...
(Maybe like this?)
{ Via ineedacupcake }

Oh & I got to hear her heartbeat again today, gosh I just love the sound, so awesome!
Plus I got to bring my best girl friend along to share in the sweetness so that was great too!

So, what are you up to this weekend?
As for me, I'll be working on Baby Fry's registry a bit more, who knew it would be so difficult?
I guess that is mainly because I don't know what to expect & what we really need.
My mom is going to help me out with that thank goodness.

I also need to pick out a formal dress to fit me
& my bump in a month for The Husband's fancy Army dinner...
Any suggestions?

Have a stellar weekend!!

Little Kitchen.

Growing up one of my favorite toys was my kitchen set (it looked like this).
I remember getting it for Christmas one year, I must've been four or five.
We had opened all the presents & were watching the
Macy's Christmas parade together as my mom made breakfast.
Suddenly my parents said there was someone at the door & they wanted me to open it.
I was a very shy kiddo so this was a bit of a stretch but with a bit of coaxing,
I opened the door to find a large item covered with a blanket and a bow on it at our door...

When the blanket was removed to my surprise a Fisher-price kitchen set was revealed! It was AWESOME!
Totally made of plastic (it was the 80's) but it had everything any kitchen would have-
a stove, a sink, a toaster, a little table, pots & pans & all the fake food you could think of.
My dad quickly set it up for me & my brother to play with & I remember spending
the rest of the morning making "eggs" for my dad sculpted out of play-doh which he pretended to eat.

Anyway, thanks for coming down memory lane with me just there.
Yesterday I went to IKEA & was totally smitten with all the play food sets they had to offer...

I had no idea that IKEA made such cute stuff for play!
Plus they have a kitchen set too which you can likely
bet Baby Fry will have someday to play with...
Did I mention the super cute mini dishes & baking tools sets?
Swooooon!

How about you? What was your favorite toy as a kid?

You Are My Sunshine.

Happy Monday my lovebugs! I hope you had a happy, happy weekend.
I'm getting ready to nest a bit more so I bought the paint for the nursery yesterday.
I choose a creamy light yellow called, Moonlit Yellow

If all goes according to my plans & daydreams
I am envisioning three yellow walls & an accent wall which the crib will be on
done in horizontal stripes of various colors (within the same tone) & various widths too...
(I just don't know if I am patient enough for that, I guess there is only one way to find out, eh?!)

Anywho, I'm thinking one of these prints will be just perfect for above the crib on said striped wall.
Perhaps in the center with two other prints on either side or just alone? Undecided on that one.

But the question for now is, which one?
I know which one(s) I lean towards, now I am just curious as to your thoughts...

Or maybe I should just get down & dirty
& make my own?

Marcel The Shell (with shoes on).

Oh my gosh. Marcel The Shel With Shoes On from Dean Fleischer-Camp has me giggling - so silly!
You may think it is stupid but I'm pregnant so silly, little, cute things make me smile...
Well wait, now that I think about it, even when I'm not pregnant that is true.

Anywho,  check it out if you are bored & in need of a lil' (literally) humor...

Ultrasound Debut.

The results are in, Baby Fry is...  a girl!

 Tee hee hee, say hello...
Our Lil' Fry was very wiggly, squiggly & just plain squirmy wormy on the day of her big ultrasound reveal.
She was also very stubborn- just like her Mama & Papa. It took three attempts to even try to determine the gender.

Not only was she breech with her bum down at time of ultrasound (she essentially mooned us- lol)
But she had her legs tightly crossed with her feet tucked up under her bum & her arms down at her sides.
We got her to reposition a bit which is the only reason we were able to get a lil' peak at her gender.
The doctor said, "Well, I don't see any boy parts, but the legs are crossed... I'm 90% sure you've got a girl."

Hehehe
We are so excited!
20 more weeks until she makes her big debut!

Baby Soft-Maps by Haptic Lab.

Oh my, oh my, OH MY!
I just spotted these awesome map quilts via Joanna Goddard & I'm in love!
Are they not awesome?! Haptic Lab really has something good going on here if I must say...

Plus, daydream & wish list create with me here...
Baby Fry is going to be born at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia-
The nation's first hospital btw! (if everything goes according to plan that is)

So how awesome would it be to get a Baby Soft-Map for
Baby Fry of Philadelphia customized with Baby Fry's name or initials on it
& then the hospital as a landmark (a few other historical landmarks too) & ready for this one...
the route we end up driving on the big day to get to the hospital mapped out as well?!

I think that sounds pretty flippin' awesome!
Ok I'm adding it to the Baby Fry wish list - NOW!

19 Weeks.

Well here we are - 19 weeks & counting!
We find out this upcoming Thursday
if Baby Fry is a BOY or a GIRL...
(or hey maybe even TWINS? Although I highly doubt that possibility)
{ Me & my 19 week Baby Fry "bump" }

So my lovelies, I'm curious- what is your guess as to Baby Fry's gender?
