Before.

Ok well kinda. These are more like "during" photos.
The original "before" photos were lost when I damaged my MacBook.
****
Anywho, this is our living room. It was FedEx orange.
(& the dining room was FedEx purple, but that is a different story)
Now don't get me wrong, I like orange as a color, even as a fruit
but in a small 1920's home with thick white trim & baseboards it doesn't really work...

See my grandfather in the shot? He is THE MAN.
The Husband & I decided we wanted to rip out the closet in our living room
to give ourselves some more wall space for furniture & to balance the room.
My grandfather did the dirty work, ripping out the trim, the door
& replacing it all with drywall & plaster.  Did I mention he is THE MAN?!

Official "after" photos coming soon, I promise!
Now if I could just find my camera battery charger...

Home Inspection.

Eeek! I am giddy with excitement & a bit nervous...

Our home inspection is today!
This will determine any problems that may be unknown to our untrained eyes
so we can have them fixed by the current owners or walk away from the deal.
Hopefully there will be no major issues- *fingers crossed*

Plus I get to spend hours in the house today looking in all the nooks
& crannies finding out what is up with our new place
& dreaming of what to do with decor etc.

Oh & I'm sneaking in some of the paint chips I picked out yesterday... tee hee hee
I'll probably mess with those while the inspector is on the roof!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Guess what? Our offer on the house was accepted.
So barring any major issues with inspections & such she is ours!
Hip! Hip! Hooray
Pop the champagne & light the sparklers...

We are so excited!

A Place to Call Home?

We went house hunting yet again this weekend & found this lil' gem...
Isn't she cute!?

Built in the 1920's, she's on a lovely & very quaint tree lined street.
She has a cute lil' deck, a nice workable & tidy yard,
original hardwoods, a brick fireplace, high ceilings
& the best natural light inside that a girl like me could ask for.

We actually went back a second time at the end of the day we liked her so much
& while her current interior paint colors do her no justice, I can definitely fix that .
So guess what!?... We are probably putting an offer on her!
(I don't know why I am referring to the house as a "her"?  Oh well, I am a bit weird.)

Anyway our fingers are now officially crossed as we hope it all works out
in our favor now that we finally found (hopefully) our new place to call home!

** Update **
Our offer was accepted
She is ours!
