Guest Post : Everyday Ebullience.

First of all, thank you so much to Ashley for having me here.
I frequently find inspiration from Oh What Fun so I am excited to be here!

I know, Ashley is always looking for fun prints and art to hang in her home,
so I thought I'd put together a few pieces of art that would be perfect for Baby Fry's nursery...

It may sound odd but this photograph evokes so much in me.
So much that I can't even really begin to explain...

Just wanted to share because I love it so much.
So much, I am now making it the center of my desktop.

Do you ever see photographs that do the same to you?

You Go, Momma.

I don't usually post things like this but this photograph of model Miranda Kerr
& her newborn son Flynn is just too beautiful for words...
{ Via Miranda's Blog }

Oh & the statement she made in regards to the birth is equally as beautiful...

"On the 6th of January I gave birth to our beautiful little son Flynn. He weighed 9lb 12 ounces (a very healthy and big baby boy). I gave birth to him naturally; without any pain medication and it was a long, arduous and difficult labour, but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it.  I could not have done it without him.

We are so happy and are enjoying our time together as a family. He is our little ray of sunshine."

Wow. All I can say is you go, momma!

The Countdown Begins.

I may very well be jinxing myself into a late arrival of Baby Fry (let's hope not!)
But I just couldn't help myself from starting the official chalkboard countdown...
32 days! Plus or minus of course since it really is all up to her, right?

Happy.

Happy Monday!

Today this Whale Tissue Holder from
the shop Gnome Sweet Gnome is making me smile!
Wouldn't it be nice to be greeted by a smiley whale when you have the sniffles?
I think so... Plus it is available in plenty of other colors.

Oh & I'm still smiling from having had a stellar weekend...
The Baby Shower was FABULOUS!
We feel so blessed &  so loved, it is & was crazy awesome!

I hope to have photographs up shortly so you can check out all the details.
Trust me when I say, my Momma & Mother-in-law did such an amazing job
we were treated to lots of snazzy gifts from all the guests, it is like Christmas over here.
Seriously, we are SO blessed!

Happy Weekend.

Happy weekend lovebugs!
This is an exciting weekend in regards to Baby Fry...
First up is our hospital & birthing suite tour on Saturday.
The Husband & I are pretty excited to walk the halls
& get a feel for where Baby Fry will (hopefully) be born.

Second up is the baby shower on Sunday.
Yes, I know the date but that is all I know, I swear.
I'm really excited to see what my Momma has planned.

Honestly, I don't even know where it is...
all I know that I'm supposed to show up a
bit before noon to greet guests- Yay!

How about you?
What lovely things do you have planned for the weekend?

Oh & isn't the illustration above so darling?
It is actually a greeting card which you can purchase here if you'd like.

Meet Nicole.

Isn't she the cutest?!
No, she is not a triplet I just like this photograph of her so
much I used it three times to introduce her to you...

Anywho, meet Nicole
The lovely lil' lady who heads the blog Everyday Ebullience

Nicole has been a reader of Oh What Fun for a while & a bit ago when
asked for a some guest bloggers to post so as not to have a big lulls of no posting
while I prepare, birth & enjoy Baby Fry, Nicole stepped right up.
(Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!)

Be sure to check out her super cute blog

Standout Giraffe.

If you've hung around the blog long enough you know I love giraffes.
So naturally I'm swooning over this lil' guy...
There is just one thing I'm not sure of...
If I were to get the Standout Giraffe is it for Baby Fry or for me?
Hmmm? Well I guess we can share.
*wink*

PS - anyone out there really great at crochet who'd
like to give making one of these a whirl? Just curious.

Stop Motion Video.

Would you like to see the lil' stop motion video I made of The Baby Fry bump?

Head on over here to check it out...

It certainly isn't anything fancy & I couldn't figure out how to
upload it directly to play automatically & loop the way I
wanted it to here on the blog but it is still kinda fun.

Enjoy!

DIY - Faux Cardboard Logs.

A while back I discussed our non-working fireplace
& my struggle with what to do with it

Currently it is home to our throw & floor pillows (seen here
which works but I'm really liking these faux cardboard logs!
Plus they are DIY which makes them totally inexpensive & fun.
I may just try my hand at them in a few months.
I'd do it now but I tend to be a messy creator so I think
this is a project best saved for the backyard...
Fun, cute & quirky, no?

Happy Weekend.

Happy weekend my dears!
{ Via weirdomatic

What lovely things do you have planned for yourself this weekend?

There is still a nice coating of snow around these parts so I
imagine my wellies will continue to get some good use.

I'm also really excited because tomorrow, Baby Fry
& I get to be models for ultrasound tech students at a
local hospital so I'll get to see her wiggle on the
lil' screen for a whole, glorious hour- yippie!

I haven't seen Baby Fry since October because I'm with
a midwifery practice so they do as few ultrasounds as possible.
So of course, I'm beyond thrilled for the opportunity to be an ob model.
(Thanks for the lead, Auntie Shauna!)

Desk.

This isn't my desk. But I totally wish it was...

Oh & hey it doesn't hurt that there is an "A" on it now does it?
I asked The Husband, if for my birthday (still months away) we could finish our 3rd room
& officially give me a studio space since my previous space has been turned into the nursery.

He said yes! So, I'm officially apologizing now for studio inspiration posts
that will pop up here & there between now & then.

33 (& 1/2) Weeks.

Today there is lots of snow outside which makes for super white wash natural light inside.
At first I was annoyed that I couldn't get a good 33 week photograph
of The Baby Fry bump but then I decided to try to work with it...
It is so crazy that she will be here in just seven weeks (give or take)...
Wow. We are down to a single digit weekly countdown!

Feed Your Soul.

 In need of a smile?
Would you like some free art to adorn your walls?
(I hope you are nodding your head because really who doesn't like smiling & free stuff, right!?)
{ July 2010's download by Donna McKenzie }

Anyway, I just discovered Feed Your Soul : The Free Art Project an awesome project designed to:

"... help art lovers feed their souls with art in these difficult
economic times and to help artists promote their work."

Started by Jen of Indie Fixx, every month a new print is uploaded
to the site & then available for free for you to download & print!
Plus all the previous months are available too so there is quite a
nice array prints by various artists to choose from.

Head on over here to check it out
& snag some free art to make you smile!

Happy weekend lovebugs! Tis' already snowing here...
I hope it doesn't get too bad I have lots of errands to run!

How bout you? What do you have planned for the weekend?
I think it may just be the perfect weekend for warm

Starbucks Siren.

Starbucks is celebrating 40 years of business this year...
(Yeah, I never knew they had been around that long either!)

In honor of their 40 years they decided to give The Siren also known
as their famous logo of the double tailed mermaid a lil' makeover...
What do you think?
I'm not completely sold. I think I have to see it in person, in these depictions it kinda
looks like the design should be imprinted on currency & personally,
I kinda miss the "Starbucks Coffee" typography.
Then again when you are a company who has been around for 40 years
& everyone knows your logo I guess you don't really have to spell it out, right?
Plus I tend to be a person resistant to change, I like things the way they are
&  it takes me some time to get used to "new" things in my daily routine...
So I'm sure once I get a new cup with a made-over Siren in hand I'll probably like it!

In other news, I guess this will make all older Starbucks logo themed things "vintage", eh?
Maybe we should start saving those cups now before the official change!? Just kidding.

Nesting.

{ Via

Hi lovelies! I hope the new year is finding you well. How was your New Years? Fabulous I hope!
I just wanted to pop in & say "hello" & to let you know that unlike many bloggers
who start the year off with a bang & lots of posts I'm actually going to take this time
to nest since the arrival of Baby Fry is just on the horizon. Eeeeeek!

Needless to say, my "To Do" list is a mile long & trust me when I say
every nook & cranny in this lil' brick house of ours will be cleaned.

So please forgive me when my posting is light in the coming weeks...
Anyone want to guest post?
