Happy Father's Day Weekend! This is The Husband's first Father's Day...

Baby Girl & I have made some handmade cards (ok, mostly me- I had her 

hold a crayon while I pushed the paper against it.) & are planning on treating

 The Husband to a homemade breakfast of his choice to celebrate- We love you, Daddy!

We are also going to two picnics as a family to celebrate our own fathers. 

I'm especially excited since one picnic site has a pool so Baby Girl will get to go swimming 

for the first time in a big pool. Plus it is just awesome to see Baby Girl with her Grandfathers.

How about you? What are you doing to celebrate your father & the father 

figures in your life this weekend? Whatever it is always remember, it is the 

thought that counts & at the end of the day most dads would prefer a hug. 

Dads are cool like that.

Happy Mother's Day Weekend.

Can you believe it? I am a mom! Me, a momma?! Jeepers!

The Husband & I were discussing yesterday on our way to Baby G's 2 month doctor 

appointment how things are, now here in 2011. After a while, we dialed in on the subject

 "if you had told me ten years ago I'd be... " & filled in the blank with various things. 

It got me to thinking. If you had told me ten years ago, actually even less, that I'd be a Momma here, now at 26 in 2011, I wouldn't have believed you. You see I never really wanted children. Scratch that. Let me rephrase. I only EVER wanted children under one condition- that they were with The Husband. Yep, he was & is the only man I've ever even entertained the idea of children with. 


So as you can imagine, I'm feeling pretty darn blessed that here
 I am- married to the love of my life & enjoying our daughter with him. Wow. 


Even better is how much she looks like him. Sure she has a few of my traits - my nose, my eyes (kinda)... but for the most part she is Daddy's girl & I love that. I love that when I look at her I not only see him but I also catch a glimpse at the perfect combination of us wrapped up into one little bundle of sheer joy.  I love her smiles, her giggles, her chubby cheeks & even her frowns & cries of frustration. She is awesome & I thank God every day that I get to be a participant in this grand plan of His 
& that I get to be a momma. All of it truly is so beyond me & my plans & that is pretty cool.


So whatever it is you are up to this weekend, I hope you enjoy it . 
But most of all, I hope you take a moment to reflect & to thank God 
(& your Mom) for bringing you into the world & giving you life.

Happy Easter Weekend.

Happy Easter Weekend lovelies!

We didn't get a chance to dye easter eggs like we did last year... 

With Baby G being only 6 weeks old I didn't think she'd be too into it. *wink*

To be honest, I kinda missed doing it. The Sister-in-Law 

& I  had a lot of fun spending an afternoon creating them last year. 

You can see some of our creations here & here if you'd like. 

Anywho, what do you have planned for this weekend? Something fun with friends & family I hope!

As for us we are going to be doing some more spring cleaning around the house 

& hopefully getting our yard cleaned up a bit more too, if the weather cooperates of course.

 Then we have Easter dinner with the family on Sunday. 

It is Baby G's first Easter! Can't wait to put her in her Easter dress & snap some photos.

What are you thankful for this year?

As for me, I am THANKFUL for...

1. The Husband actually being home vs deployed in a combat zone, foreign country or anywhere other than with me.

2. The lil' bumps & kicks Baby Fry throws my way every day & the easy pregnancy I've been blessed with so far.

3. Our crazy Piper Dog who literally makes us laugh everyday. I'm so glad she found her way into our life this time last year. 

4. The magical feeling rekindled inside me every time I feel & smell fall & impending winter. 

5. Family, friends & sweet strangers who remind me that there are still good, kind people out there.

 I really am truly blessed with SO much & it is so crazy wonderful. God is so good!
