285 Square Feet.

When I first spotted this bed nook
on Apartment Therapy I thought it was awesome...
Then as I scrolled through the rest of the photographs & found out it
was part of a 285 square foot apartment I thought it was amazing!
Head on over here to check out the full story & if you are like me
& love this teen-tiny place be sure to give Natalie your thumb's up
so her place can make it to the finals of the Small, Cool 2010 contest.

Spring Blooms.

I snapped a few photographs of the buds
& blooms springing to life around our place yesterday.

Despite the fact that tree pollen makes me very sneezy
I just could not resist- they are too pretty to ignore...
Totally worth the sneezes, itchy eyes & sinus pressure, right?!

Oh & before I forget - did you get a chance to enter the current giveaway?
It closes tonight at 11:59pm so hurry, hurry, hurry!

Happy Pup.

Piper Dog & I went for a big walk today...
This is her first spring & she just looked so happy the entire time we were out & about.
She also met several bumble bees & was completely unsure what to do about them...
It was hilarious. Although I hope she never tries to take a bite out of one- that could be bad!

Neutral Paint.

Oh wow, Monday snuck up on me! Good day, good Monday to you!

Seeing as it is officially April now & we are less than 20 days from moving...
 I couldn't sleep last night.

It seems I always have visions of our new place in my head.
Lots of decisions to make you know, like paint colors...
I have at least decided to stick with more neutral colors at our new place.

My only problem is I can't decide on a palate...
Grey? Cream? Tan? White? A mix of all of them? What do you think?

Here are some photographs that are currently inspiring my neutral paint ideas...

{ My apologies I do not remember where all these came from, they've been sitting on my desktop for a while.
If you happen to recognize one &  know where it is from,  please tell me so I can provide proper photo credits }

I especially love the bottom photograph...
Not quite sure why- maybe it is the burst of natural light from the window?

So what do you think?
Can I get away with a mix of all the color palates or will it just look silly?

Mustache Eggs.

The Sister-In-Law & I dyed easter eggs yesterday
Her eggs turned out very vibrant & colorful.

As for mine? Well mine ended up with mustaches...

Let's just say that by the end of the afternoon
I was talking in a french accent & naming my eggs...
Francois, Bernard, Pierre & Frank (he's the one with the handlebar stache)

Don't you think that they are almost too quirky & cute to crack & eat!?
In fact, I  think I may sneak them into a full dozen of regular eggs
for a silly surprise to whomever picks them up & tries to cook with them.
(ahaha - I'm so sneaky... & laughing already!)

Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Love.

As promised here are the results of our egg dying
a-la Martha Stewart's tips & tricks...
We used PAAS egg dye in classic colors (that means adding 3 tablespoons of vinegar)
black electrical tape, scissors, thin tip sharpie markers & lots of patience to create our eggs.
The Sister-In-Law's eggs turned out the best & were also the most colorful...
As for me, I became oddly obsessed with mustaches
(I thought the black electrical tape scraps looked like lil' mustaches)
So I ended up doing eggs with various types of mustaches & colored striped t-shirts...
I also found myself talking in a french accent & being called a "weirdo" multiple times by The SIL ... hmmm?

All in all we had a stellar afternoon decorating eggs on the patio.
I highly recommend it if you get the chance & Martha's tips worked like a charm!

Creature Comforts.

This photograph melts my heart & considering I can hear the birds singing
outside my window right now it melts it even more!
I  originally spotted this beauty over on Creature Comforts  (which is one of my favorite blogs)
I think it is pretty cool that this photograph sort of defines the title of the "Creature Comforts" don't you?

I then swiftly followed the links to photographer Tracie Swift's flickr stream & let me just tell you - WOW!

Bouncy Balls.

None of you know this because I've never told you-
But when I was about five or six I had a bouncy ball collection.
I loved that collection. So colorful, so fun! I think I had about fifty of them.
Then one day I was playing in our yard, went in for lunch or something
& the lawnmower had come by & well you can probably put it together, no more bouncy balls.
Anyway, I spotted this Sony Bravia advertisement over on Hooray
& just had to share it with you. I can't stop watching it!

Simply awesome, right?!
I really want to see it in high definition on a HUGE tv screen...
That would make me oh so happy!

(P.S. - if you love the music to it as much as I do it is "Hearbeats" by José González)
