Scenes of Winter.

Well it is pretty obvious that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow
six more weeks of winter are in store seeing as it snowed very early this morning.
Since Piper Dog loves the snow & I have been itching to get some photos
of snow covered branches & such, we headed outside...

Did you get snow where you live?
If so, how are you spending your snow day?

To see photos of the last time it snowed go here or here

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
Through the fields we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot,
We ran into a drifted bank
And there we got upsot.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago
The story I must tell
I went out on the snow
And on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by
In a one-horse open sleigh
He laughed at me as
I there sprawling laid
But quickly drove away.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Now the ground is white,
Go it while you're young,
Take the girls along
And sing this sleighing song.
Just bet a bob-tailed bay,
Two-forty as his speed,
Hitch him to an open sleigh
and crack! You'll take the lead.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Bravo Peter... don't mind if I call you that do you? Looks like someone is on to where my humble little blog got its name from - Oh What Fun! ;)

As for the italicized words... sorry if they are giving you a problem, I just get excited sometimes & like to make some words stand out a bit more then others... blogger doesn't have too many options for that so I choose to italicize some words here & there. Sorry :/

Love the pictures, Ash! You should definitely sell prints on your Etsy shop! I would totally by some! :)

It snowed in NC! We made snow cream and went sledding! I'm loving your snow pictures :)

Peter is fine. No problem-o, I completely understand the stylistic constraints imposed by blogger. I think it's awesome that your initials spell Alf. You know, the popular late 80's tv series?

@ Peter - ah yes ALF. Loved him as a kid... I even had a stuffed ALF doll that talked! "Be there or be square..." ;)
